About Learning Curves Psychological

What do Psychologists do?

happy family

Psychologists listen and accept both you and what you say. A Psychologist will then empower and assist you in designing and achieving your goals.

Psychologists then work with a person to bring something new or different into their behaviour, feelings or thinking that helps to move them closer to achieving their goals.

Psychologists do not prescribe medication. We are part of a health care team that may include your medical practitioner.  A  Psychologist will help you develop your own sense of personal control in your life, enabling you to build your sense of well-being by means of your own thinking and behaviours. This means that you play an active role in your therapy where you learn, practice and apply effective life skills.

Importantly, at Learning Curves Psychology we use only those learning activities that are supported by research to be effective in any given situation. Psychologists are often nicknamed ‘Talk Therapists’ but importantly MRI studies when conducted consistently show that such interventions do in fact build neural connectivity and lead to change in the structural architecture of the brain itself.
